The Islamic Economics Study Program Successfully Holds Curriculum Review with 21 State Universities in Indonesia





Yogyakarta (29/11) - The Islamic Economics Study Program successfully held a curriculum review with 21 state universities in Indonesia during the Plenary Session II of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economics Study Programs (APSEII) 2023, under the theme "United in our diversity, We create economy that serves all." This event, which took place on November 29, 2023, was attended by 21 state universities from across Indonesia. A total of 31 participants, including heads of study programs and lecturers from Islamic Economics Study Programs representing each university, took part in this event.
The Plenary Session II of APSEII 2023 was held offline in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The event commenced with a welcome speech from the host, Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag. M.A., the Dean of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga, highlighting the challenges faced by the Islamic Economics Study Program in obtaining national and international accreditation. This forum is expected to provide an effective and strategic solution to enhance the program's capabilities through collaboration. The event featured speeches from the chairman of APSEII 2023, Cupian, S.E., M.T., Ph.D, and a keynote speech from the head of the OJK Literacy Group, Muhammad Ismail Riyadi.
The focal point of this event revolved around a series of discussions on the APSEII Articles of Association, discussion concerning the mandatory curriculum of Islamic Economics Study Program, and the appointment of new APSEII members. During this meeting, emphasis was placed on the significance of implementing a collaborative curriculum based on Outcome Based Education (OBE) to cultivate graduates with practical and relevant competencies, thereby developing high-quality student resources in the field of Islamic economics.
The aim of this agenda is to consolidate efforts towards collectively advancing the field of Islamic economic studies in the future. With a collaborative spirit and strong determination, stakeholders in the Islamic Economics Study Program are committed to continue growing and maintaining their existence amidst global competition. The Plenary Session II of APSEII 2023 is considered a solid foundation for the next phase, and a shared milestone of success in attaining excellence and quality standards in Islamic economic education in Indonesia.
