The First Eksyar School Event: School of Islamic Economics Philosophy

Yogyakarta (7/7) - The Islamic Economics Study Program, FEBI, UIN Sunan Kalijaga held the School of Islamic Economic Philosophy under the theme "Islamic Economics Philosophy" for two days, on July 4-5, 2022, using online platforms. The event, attended by dozens of Sharia Economics students, marked the inaugural event in the series of Eksyar School's agenda.

The event aimed to offer students a comprehensive understanding of the design, scope, and methodology of Islamic economic science. Dr. Abdul Qoyum, S.E.I. M.Sc.Fin., the Head of the Islamic Economics Study Program, was one of the speakers at this two-day event.

"Sharia Economics students need to grasp the philosophy of Sharia economic science and its distinctions from conventional economic philosophy. Sharia economics can be more flexible in its paradigm, employing both positivist and interpretivist approaches, unlike conventional economics, which predominantly uses the positivist paradigm," he explained in his presentation.

According to Zein, an Islamic Economics student participating in the event, the School of Islamic Economic Philosophy is highly valuable for students as it serves as a fundamental source for the development of Islamic economic theories and laws. He expressed gratitude for the event, emphasizing its role in providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the significance of Islamic economics.

"I hope that the series of Eksyar School events will continue. As students, we truly need to acquire knowledge of Islamic economics as the fundamental basis of our education. It would be unfortunate if our fellow Islamic Economics students, in particular, do not participate in this event," he expressed in an interview session.
