Expanding Global Perspectives: 4 Sharia Economics Students from FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Mark Their Mark on the International Stage through Student Mobility, International Conferences, and Company Visits in Malaysia

Yogyakarta (23/11) – A total of 13 students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta were sent to participate in the 2023 Student Mobility Program and International Conference. The group departed on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 04:00 WIB from Tugu Station in Yogyakarta, heading to George Town, Penang, Malaysia.

The departure was led by the Dean of FEBI, Dr. Afdawaiza, S.Ag., M.Ag., and attended by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Salehudin, S.Th.I., M.A.

This program involved top students from various study programs at FEBI. Among the 13 participants, four were undergraduate students from the Sharia Economics program: M. Nabil Falih, Zahrotu Farodisa, Deny, and Ari Fahrur Rozi. The activities spanned five days, from October 23 to 27, 2023.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), located in George Town, Penang, served as the venue for the International Conference. On the first day, FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga students commenced their journey with a Cultural Exchange program in Singapore before proceeding to USM. On the second and third days, the students presented the scientific papers they had prepared. The event also included academic discussions and problem-solving sessions with students from various countries.

In addition to academic activities, the FEBI delegation also participated in a Company Visit to Ayam Gepuk Top Global, a Kuala Lumpur-based company founded by six Indonesian students in 2021. During the visit, the company’s management explained its business strategies, including financial management and the implementation of digital marketing targeting millennials. This technology-driven marketing concept is expected to inspire participants to develop their potential in the business world.

Through this program, FEBI students, particularly those representing the Sharia Economics undergraduate program, are expected to enhance their global perspectives, academic capabilities, and soft skills. Furthermore, the knowledge and experiences gained during the program are hoped to be shared with their peers back on campus, contributing positively to the institution’s development.
