Islamic Economics Study Program Provides Students with Training and Certification in Sharia AWP Profession

Yogyakarta (5/11) - Understanding financial planning is the first crucial step in establishing a sound mindset about finances. It entails making prudent decisions for the long term, encompassing the planning and management of income, insurance, investments, and inheritance. By gaining this understanding early on, individuals are encouraged to make thoughtful plans and take appropriate actions in line with their priorities and circumstances.

In an endeavor to cultivate reliable human resources with competence in Sharia-based financial planning, the Islamic Economics Study Program provides students with training and certification in the Sharia Associate Wealth Planner (AWP) profession.

This activity took place over two days on Saturday-Sunday, November 4-5, 2023 (22/7) in a hybrid format at the Smart Room of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, and through Zoom from 08.00-11.30 WIB. This training was attended by 16 participants, including students in their 5th and 7th semesters and educational staff of the Islamic Economics Study Program UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

The first day was dedicated to comprehensive discussions on structured financial management and planning in compliance with Islamic law. This was followed by an explanation of the implementation of Sharia financial management and planning using MyIFPESyariah on the second day.

It is hoped that Islamic Economics students can further enhance their understanding of managing finances in accordance with Sharia by developing the ability to plan for Zakat, Alms, and Endowments, while steering clear of practices involving uncertainty, gambling, and usury.
