The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has once again received the first-place award in the Economic Debate Competition held by FORNASMEBI (National Forum of Islamic Economics and Business) Region III. This achievement was part of the Sharia Economics Jamboree (JES) activities held at IAIN Purwokerto on May 26, 2021. The representatives of FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga were Fajar Sodik, a student of the Islamic Banking Study Program 2019, Maili Launa Tayiba, a student of the Islamic Economics Study Program 2019, and Moh Sudah, a student of the Islamic Banking Study Program 2020.

JES is part of a series of regional work meetings and the inauguration of the Region III FORNASMEBI officials in DIY-Central Java. This event featured various competitions to enliven the Regional Work Meeting and the inauguration of officials, including the Short Film Competition, Business Plan Competition, Economic Debate, and Scientific Writing Competition. Seven campuses participated in this competition, including UIN Sunan Kalijaga, UIN Walisongo Semarang, IAIN Purwokerto, IAIN Salatiga, IAIN Surakarta, IAIN Pekalongan, and IAIN Kudus.

The Debate Competition series commenced with the collection of videos, followed by the selection of the top 2 teams. These teams then competed in the final round to determine the championship winner. The FEBI UIN Sunan Kalijaga team emerged victorious, defeating the host team IAIN Purwokerto.

Hopefully, this achievement can inspire other students to strive for excellence and contribute to FEBI's reputation as an outstanding and dignified campus. (ES Media Team)
